2022 Conference - Oct. 16, 17, 18
After a two-year absence of in-person gathering, we were happy to have A Sound Renewal in Owen Sound, Ontario.
Our Monday morning speaker was Dana Burtt, a Senior Customer Success Manager at LifeWorks and a Workplace Wellness & Nutrition Specialist, who led two workshops: How to Make Our Workplace Healthy and included Emotional Intelligence. Dana spoke next about Making our Bodies & Minds Healthy. On Tuesday morning, Clyde Harris, an experienced bookkeeper for charities and small businesses and an active member at Ebenezer United Church in Markham, gave informative presentations on Archives and Record Retention and Privacy and How It Relates to the Church. The Christian Resource Centre from Mitchell provided a book display during the conference where we were able to purchase items for our churches and ourselves. To get us up from our chairs and outside, on Monday afternoon we visited the Bethel Ezekiel Synagogue and the Georgian Shores United Church. The Monday night entertainment was provided by the talented Owen Sound City Band that got us moving and jiving to some great tunes. All this, and networking and having some great conversations with with other church secretaries and office administrators, made for a very successful conference.
